Drawing inspiration from couture, Dior Watchmaking combines creative daring, a sense of colour and rich materials with watchmaking expertise to bring precious timepieces to life.

I was glad to discover the awesome know how of the Timepiece studio for a 6 months internship. Working with designers and the swiss watches expert from creation to the development allowed me to enrich my material sensitivity and to push my sens of detail.

Dior VIII Montaigne

Clair de Lune

Their dial features gold threads and diamonds representing the three phases of the moon – ascending, full, and descending. These precious hand-embroidered filaments recall the savoir-faire present in the House’s haute couture ateliers.

Missions I could work on :

Updating of the photoshop drawings and work on illustrator/psd file for the dial gold threads of each step of the moon.

Illustrator and photoshop research on the needle and back graphics.

Assist the exchange with the ateliers horlogers in swiss to follow development of the dial, curved front glass, back glass, needle and leather watch strap.

Dior Grand Bal

Plume Noire

The Dior Grand Bal collection swirls like a ball gown to the rhythm of the “Dior Inversé” calibre and functional oscillating weight placed on top of the dial which drive the timepiece.

For the Dior Grand Bal Plume Noire I could work on back glass graphic design research answering the dial gold thread design.

Development monitoring assistance: creation of technical drawings on illustrator and exchange with the builder team in Swiss for the balance wheel 3D shaping. Updated of the photoshop drawing.
